So, who are these characters and what are they for, anyway?

To be honest, quite a few of them evolved from fan characters I originally created to go with my favorite anime or videogames. They were almost always original and separate from the other characters in their environments, but I created them specifically to go into those settings.

When I was younger, I used to tell myself stories of my characters' adventures together, particularly the adventures of Rose and her three friends, Hikari, Em, and Jade. However, I've never been a very good writer and I never got around to writing down most of their stories because they usually intertwined with the storylines of whatever anime or videogames I was interested in at the time. A few times I've tried to write original stories about my characters, but I never get around to finishing them because they always had a lot of plot holes that I could never fix. I've always been more interested in drawing the scenes of their adventures than writing about them.

Over the years they've all changed a lot, especially Rose, whom I've always thought of as my alter-ego and my mascot in a way. Rose has gone through at least four major physical makeovers and three name changes since I originally came up with her character, and I still don't know what her new last name is...

Currently the only project I have involving them is putting them on CafePress merchandise designs, but my real dream for them is to put them on a real clothing line when I become a fashion designer. I want people to know who they are the way they know who Hello Kitty and the other Sanrio characters are, even if they don't become as famous as Hello Kitty.
